Black Samba blog – now on wordpress
This blog will be a place for me to discuss my spiritual journey, as it relates to recovery from alcoholism, my explorations of spiritual teachings, the study and performance of jazz and personal psychotherapy. The Black Samba Podcast will be an audio expression of the same. Two episodes exist, the links of which I will post here. I've been busy doing the jazz podshows for months, but am in the position now to produce these personal podcasts again, and intend to do so. I will post the links and re-feed this blog into Feedburner soon.

Zendo

My Wednesday jazz jam is on hiatus, freeing me up to go to the zendo for our Wednesday evening sit. I’m very relieved. On the first night in April, my teacher came and hung out for an hour while we opened the set to offer me support. Now, several months later, I’m ready to have my regular sitting time with the sangha again.

Black Samba Rides Again Episode 02 – Conception
Show Notes:
Black Samba Rides Again – Episode #2 – Conception
BlackSambaRidesAgain_Episode_02_Conception.mp3
This is the 2nd show in the Black Samba vein. It's been a month since the first one, in which time I've produced a dozen episodes for my Portland Jazz Jams project, which you can listen to at PJJ Podshow.
So more of these shows will be forthcoming on various topics involving zen, recovery, jazz and all intersecting contingent realities therein. Or out.
The monk I mentioned in the show can be found here: http://www.buddhanet.net/masters/sumedho.htm
Ok, let me know any thoughts, comments, criticisms via blog comments or email dog-matic at blacksamba.com
until then,
